Joyce,
I am in awe over your abilities to continue taking those leaps of faith! You knew where you were called to go....and you found a way to get there....and now you continue to live from the heart space of trust and generosity. You are a teacher and a prophet! Keep on trusting!

Hello Laurie, I am so glad you wrote about this, I truly love it. I have been going through what you just wrote about. I prayed that God would use me to be of service in my new community. So one of the ways that has happenened is when people ask me for money, mostly for food, I give it, if led to do so, which is quite often. And I don't question what they will do with the money, it's not between me, it's between them and God or their Creator, Higher Power or whatever. Another way I've been of service is when people ask me to give them a ride here or there, I don't question about the time it takes, the gas being used or etc. Now about maybe why we hoard or whatever you call not sharing or giving of what we have or don't have perhaps it's a core issue that we can ask ourselves " why or why not, where does this come from" Also so thankful for you and your ministry for seeing the need in your comunity and surrounding community schools God bless all.

Dear Lauri,

You wrote, inter alia: " there is also no answer to the question, "What if God is?" At the end of the day, we do not know, we have no proof, we have no evidence."

As you surely know, arguments/proofs about for the existence of God. For one starting point, among dozens, consider Leibnitz's position more or less "everything has its sufficient reason." Apply that to the color of your cat or the size of a horse's hoof and fascinating speculations based on fact can arise.

Some people are convinced. Some are not. But respectable arguments abound.

Cordially,

Patrick Killough

Well said, Lauri. In response to a question on the Apostles' Creed, our church's deacon noted that believing things we don't understand is part of the job description of faith. That makes us fools in the eyes of many rationalists, to be sure. But like you, I can't imagine another way to live.

Jessi,
The funny thing is that your gifts have been named by the Catholic Church: Prophecy. Pastoring. Healing. Teaching. The prophet sees the truth beyond the words, the sign of the times pointing toward where we need to be going. The Prophet sees differently than others and sees things others do not see. The Pastor is able to be present as a source of loving support, objective listening and compassionate presence. The healer is the vessel through which God's healing and transformational love is accomplished in another. Teachers help others find their way to their own inner truth. Amen sister! You are doing it.....and keep on doing it...WE NEED YOU!!!!!

How are you uniquely gifted to reveal God in the world?
I have recently been guided to understand that my gift(s) are also not defined by the Catholic Church. I am present in ways that others cannot be, one on one. I am a reassuring voice and presence, even when I feel completely instable. Some have identified this as healing. I'm not sure I believe that part. I also SEE differently. It is hard to explain. Some have called me a visionary. I am not claiming that. I am very much in a place of learning what my gifts can and cannot do, and how to best put them to God's work.

How are you aware of the unique giftedness of others?
This is part of my not-so-common vision. I am not able to call it "unique", at this point, but I have to recognize that not everyone sees what and how I see. I see God/Christ in others. I always have. I love, adore and am humbled by it, and I am responsive to it.

Where do you see the way in which our mutual gifts complement each other?
There are millions of things I simply cannot and never will be able to do, that are good and that need to be done. When/if I can facilitate the health and happiness and growth of others, they can do more of what needs to be done.
